Trueschool Monday #13

"Always broke so I got this attitude
In my lab never fool my man, this is crazy rude
Gyros and pizza, be my lunch and dinner
I know that I'm a sinner, but God help me out nigga..."

Classic track from Brooklyn, New York based rapper Shyheim (born Shyheim Dionel Franklin) featuring June Luva and Pop Da Brown Hornet. Track is from his second studio album The Lost Generation, released 1996.
Already a skilled rapper in his younger years, Shyheim became the youngest Wu-Tang affiliate at the time!
After moving to Staten Island from Brooklyn as a child Shyheim spent time living with Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah in the Stapleton Houses. He became affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan and released his first single "On and On" in 1993. Turning the focus on himself and the gritty ghetto surroundings, he rapped "to rap out the realness in the street." He gained fans and won accolades for his inspired Virgin Records debut album "AKA The Rugged Child."
He have shared the stage with legendary rappers, The Notorious B.I.G, Tupac Shakur and Big Daddy Kane at Madison Square Garden for a live freestyle session. His prestige also landed him an appearance on Big Daddy Kane’s “Show & Prove,” which featured Wu-Tang member Ol Dirty Bastard, Sauce Money, Scoob Lover and Grammy Award winning rap star, Jay-Z.

"Yo, I need a gangsta bitch; she don't sleep and she don't play
Stickin up girls from around the fuckin way
Strapped but lovable, hateful but huggable

Always in trouble and definitely fuckable
See her now, booms and pounds, she's mine friend
Puffin on a blunt, sippin on a Heineken..."

Legendary oldschool classic track "Gangsta Bitch" from New Jersey based rapper Apache (Anthony Peaks).
Apache emerged from New Jersey in the late 1980s as a front man for the Flavor Unit, a hip-hop group. He first appeared on the Flavor Unit album, The 45 King Presents The Flavor Unit, in 1990. Apart from his individual records, he also featured on several albums (of Naughty By Nature, Tupac Shakur, Fat Joe, etc.).

Apache signed to Tommy Boy Records and released his debut album, Apache Ain't Shit (1993). Also featured on the album was the hit single "Gangsta Bitch", which went to No. 67 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 11 on the Hot Rap Singles. Apache also released a single "Do Fa Self" in 1993.
Apache died on January 22, 2010 after a protracted illness.
Rest in paradise...

"I'm slick and slippery
On a high-speed chase all the way to the victory
Y'all niggaz is stone cold mysteries
Too weak, can't stand in the ring with me
Put a pussy back in his place, straightlaced
With a Strong Arm Steady gang up in your face..."

Damn I love this video!! "Criminal Set" by Xzibit featuring Strong Arm Steady crew. Track is from Mr.X's album "Weapons of Mass Destruction" (2004)
Xzibit began his music career as a member of the Likwit Crew, a loose collective of West Coast rappers which included King Tee, Defari, and Tha Alkaholiks. He appeared on King Tee's album, IV Life (1994), on the song "Free Style Ghetto", and then on Tha Alkaholiks' Coast II Coast (1995), on the song "Hit and Run". After touring with Likwit Crew in 1995, Xzibit signed to Loud Records and released his debut album, At the Speed of Life (1996). The album produced his first breakthrough single "Paparazzi".
