"Rhymes too drastic, bastard, pull hookers like elastic
N-b-a style, fann-tastic

At the peak of his own rap career, New York legend Big Daddy Kane (pictured) started featuring a young Jay-Z at his live shows. Kane then put Jay on a song called “Show and Prove” along with fellow young rappers Shyheim, Sauce Money, Big Scoob, and a rising star called Ol’ Dirty Bastard. “Don’t knock it ‘til you try it,” rapped Jay-Z, then 24 years old. “Once you start, you can’t stop it.”
